FAQ - Frequently asked questions Bike rental

The general terms and conditions are different in each company. For this reason it is always good to ask for exact information! In order to prevent our clients from unnecessary phone calls or emails, we have prepared the answers to the frequently asked questions - specifically custom-tailored to La Palma 24 rent a car.

Where can I pick-up and return the E-Bike?

The E-Bike handover is exclusively at our location in Los Llanos. Our office is located in the centre of the main touristic area on the sunny west side of La Palma in the heart of Los Llanos, at Calle Fernández Taño 5, behind the church.

We will bring the E-Bike free of charge to the accommodation in the Aridane Valley for rental periods of more than one week!

What is included in the rental price?

Included in the rental price are the E-Bike and the battery.

Bicycle helmets, bicycle locks, charger and detachable bicycle lamps as well as air pump are provided free of charge.

Replacement batteries will be provided upon prior request and a fee will be charged.

How long is one day of rental?

From the moment you received the E-Bike it is 24 hours. If the return is delayed, a new rental day can be charged.

At what age can I rent an E-Bike?

The minimum age to book an E-Bike is 18 years. If the renter is under an age of 18 years, the legal representative and/or educate-entitled is responsible and becomes a renter.

When do I have to pay the E-Bike?

You can pay the amount during the handover in cash or by EC-, Master-, Maestro- or Visacard (except American Express). Of course it is also possible to transfer the amount in advance to our Spanish business account.

Excepted from this are clients who have chosen the "direct booking tariff" or if the due date of the payment is deviating from an offer.

What happens if I cancel my E-Bike reservation?

When booking a "direct booking tariff" the following cancellation policy applies:

A cancellation is possible before the beginning of the rental period. The renter must do this in written form. The date of receipt is decisive. In the case of a cancellation, the following fees will be charged on the already paid pre-payment (amount of the rent including the booked extras and fees):

Minimum cancellation fee: 10, - Euro
Cancellations up to
30 days before the start of the rental........................................ 20%
from 29 days to 15 days before the start of the rental.............. 30%
from 14 days to 8 days before the start of the rental................ 50%
from 7 days to 1 day before the start of the rental.................... 80%
In case of no-show or non-collection........................................ 100%
of the total rental price.

When booking a "payment on site tariff " the following cancellation policy applies:

A booking can be changed or cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) via our hotline or online.

Which conditions of liability apply?

The renter drives at his or her own risk. The renting company assumes no liability for damage to property or personal injury to the renter himself or in general to third persons or through improper use of the rented item. The renter undertakes to use the E-bike properly and carefully. The E-bike must always be locked to fixed objects, even during short periods while leaving the E-bike. The renter is fully responsible for all damages resulting from neglect or improper use of the E-bike. The renter is liable for the repair costs in case of accidental damages or improper handling of the E-bike. The renter is liable for the replacement value in case of total damage, loss or theft of the E-bike.

What do I have to do in case of an accident?

First of all: Don't Panic! Call immediately La Palma 24. We speak English and make us on the way to you as well as we inform the police if necessary. Our emergency telephone: 0034-637 55 97 62. We prepare on spot together with the police in Spanish the accident report.

In the case of an accident with personal injury call the ambulance with 112 or call 0034-637 55 97 62 and ask for "English".
